Things to Know
The duration and effects of consuming cannabis can differ greatly from person to person. When cannabis is consumed orally, THC is metabolized by your liver and converted into 11-hydroxy-THC.
When smoking cannabis, the effects are immediate and diminish quickly, whereas when consuming edibles, the effects can take anywhere from 20 minutes to 2 hours to occur and can last 3-9 hours. We suggest waiting at least an hour before consuming more.
The effect can be altered by stomach contents, alcohol consumption, normal digestion rate and edible experience.
Heavy cannabis smokers can still be affected from low dose edibles. Smoking cannabis differs greatly from consuming cannabis orally. Smoking cannabis daily doesn’t mean your tolerance for edibles is also high.
You should start low and go slow. You can always eat more, but you can’t eat less. There’s no shame in starting with a low dose edible and working your way up. For first timers, we suggest starting with 5 MG or less and working your way up slowly.
